Commodore 64 emulator on the iPhone

I cut my computer teeth on the Commodore Vic-20 and C-64 way back when. I have always toyed with emulators on Linux and Mac OS X, mostly to play Ultima IV and to write BASIC programs for nostalgia.
Apparently the submitted app was not approved by Apple because it has the ability to run interpreted code, which is a violation of the App Store policy. The story is here at Touch Arcade. Another blog has posted a comparison between the C-64 and the iPhone here.
I was thinking about writing a PDP-8 emulator for the iPhone, but it looks like that too would run afoul of the terms and conditions. Bummer.
