About

The Tech News Vermont blog and podcast is place to talk about the tech industry as it applies to the Green Mountain state.  This idea hit me during the iPhone introduction in January of 2009.  There was not a lot of media coverage about the launch of the iPhone.  There never seemed to be enough media coverage of tech issues in Vermont.  The number of tech folks in the Green Mountains is relatively small and there are national tech shows and podcasts.  The Tech News Vermont podcast is modeled after Leo Leport’s wonderful Twit.tv netcast network.  If you want to know what’s going in tech, twit.tv and the twit family of podcasts are a great place to start.  However, there are some things that the national media talk about that don’t work in Vermont or haven’t made it here yet (i.e. iPhones and the 3G network) and there are issues that are more local, such as the Verizon to Fair Point transition that probably won’t make it onto the national tech media’s radar.  That’s where Tech News Vermont comes in.

If you want to be a part of the show, please send email to feedback@technewsvt.com.  You can follow me, Jack Skoda on twitter.com/jskoda.  Feel free to comment on the blog.
